Following stellar kick-off, Council announces "Listening Town Hall" on Oct 29th
Washington, D.C.: The PMDD Policy Council is pleased to announce it will host a virtual town hall on October 29. The meeting comes on the heels of the Council's successful launch party and virtual town hall in late September.
The gathering will feature several speakers talking about their personal stories and perspectives on what needs to change. Following their remarks, the community will break out into smaller groups to share their own stories and brainstorm policy ideas.
The Listening Town Hall will take place via Zoom on Thursday, October 29th at 8pm ET / 7pm CT / 5pm PT.
"This will be a listening town hall and we intend to do just that: listen to people with PMDD, their partners and loved ones, and the experts and clinicians treating it."
— Emily Blout, President
"This town hall is about you. The stories and policy ideas that come out of it will inform the Council's policy platform."
— Marybeth Bohn, Vice President
"At the end of the day, this Council is fueled by its members. Our collective voices can move mountains."
— JoLynn Meirovitz, Vice President

PMDD Launch Party and Virtual Town Hall Announced
Emily Blout, Marybeth Bohn, and JoLynn Meirovitz are proud to announce the launch of the PMDD Policy Council on September 25, 2026 from 7–8:30pm EST. The PMDD Policy Council is the first lobbying and advocacy group dedicated to catalyzing a national response to Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder through policy that expands research, strengthens education, increases awareness, and improves lives. Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder is a serious condition that affects 1 in 20 menstruating women and girls. It causes significant emotional, mental, and physical symptoms which occur for one to two weeks each month during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. Despite its severity and prevalence, few know about the condition. The organizers expect over 150 people to attend, making it the largest gathering of women with PMDD in America. The event is free and all are welcome.
"While this is the launch of the Council, the organization is not the star of the show. The true stars will be the women with PMDD, clinicians, and experts who attend."
— Emily Blout, President & Founder
"There's a huge need for this, and it couldn't be more urgent."
— Marybeth Bohn, Co-Founder & Vice President
"This is just the first step in what will become a powerful movement."
— JoLynn Meirovitz, Co-Founder & Vice President
